Speed Limits

Sonoma County passed a law making it legal to drive 65 mph on freeways inside the county. A state law limited all vehicles anywhere in the state to 55 mph. What is the valid speed limit on freeways inside this county? Why do you think this?

  1. the speed limit would be 55 because the state government over rules any local governments conflicting laws.

  4. I believe it would be 55mph because they state law should overrule the county law, because the state law is higher up when it would come to the speed limits on a freeway.

  5. The speed limit should still have to be 55 mph because the state rules over powers the country rules
