Showing Your Appartment

Three weeks before you are scheduled to move out of an apartment, the landlord tells you that he wants to begin showing the apartment to to other prospective tenants.

Must you allow him to do this even though your lease says nothing about showing the apartment?
Ethically, should you allow the apartment to be shown even if you are not legally obligated to do so? Explain.

  1. Yes you do. You should help him out by letting him show it.

  2. You must allow him. It's an automatic rule that the owner has the right to do this. Ethically, you should agree anyways. Since you're legally obligated, you have to. Yes.

  5. you are not legally required to. it doesn't say anything about it in the contract. you should show it tho. it would be the nice thing to do. if you don't let them show the house it will take even longer to re rent the house.

  6. If the contract doesnt say anything about doing it. I dont think you would have to. You should show it. So the landlord can get someone else in the apartment.

  8. No. you do not legally have to let him show the apartment unless it says. But in this situation you should allow him to as long as you are not busy on the day of his showing! It would be the right thing to do so that way he can make arrangements with another client when you finally move out.
