New Boss

A new boss was scheduled to take over Patty's department in three weeks, Patty agreed to pay Nancy $600 to remove unflattering information from her personnel file so she would look good to the new boss. The day before Nancy was going to do it Patty called and told her not to. She also asked for her money back. Nancy never took the information.

Could Patty sue and recover her money? Explain.

  1. Yes she can. She tried to void the deal and get her money back in return, but Nancy refused. Legally, if you want to cancel a contract, you can. Especially since it was an oral agreement. Patty can sue Nancy for her money back.

  2. Yes she can. She made an illegal contract. the action was not made those so therefore she should have all her money back. also if they would have gotten caught it would have been nancy who would have got in trouble for making the illegal deal

  3. For patty it is illegal to bribe someone to take care of business for them. If patty were to sue she would not have a valid reason to. Nancy could also get introuble for taking the money. But for better reasons Nancy could also get in trouble for takeing the bribe. Patty shouldnt sue.
